We are extremely proud to announce that our Year 5/6 football team have ended the season as the winners of Salford’s Division One league. The team won an incredible 15 out of a possible 20 games in which they played this year. In addition, the boys represented the school’s ethos of fair play and respect for all. Well done!
Y6 pupils are currently revising several science topics. The video below helps pupils learn the scientific names of the bones in our bodies. It also has one of the catchiest songs ever to grace a science video!
In preparation for Christmas, pupils in Classes K and L have been baking this week with Mrs Cookson. In groups, they weighed their ingredients, mixed them together and cut shapes to create gingerbread cookies. They were yummy!

Choir members today began their annual series of performances by singing at The Palace Hotel in Manchester. Mrs Summers and Mr Lee have been working with choir members from Year 5/6 over the past few months in preparation for our Christmas performances. As always, the children were excellently behaved and greatly enjoyed their day out!
At lunchtimes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Mrs Summers hosts a prayer group for years 5 and 6. Pupils take part in prayers, reflections, meditations and hymns and do so in a reverent and respectful manner. The sessions are very popular and indicate the pupils’ commitment to the Catholic values of our school. Thank you to Mrs Summers for leading these wonderful sessions!
Pupils in Mr Cooper’s, Mrs Cookson’s and Mrs Clarke’s classes have been learning about Ancient Egypt this term. As part of their Design and Technology work, the children will be constructing their own ‘Shaduf’. Mr Cooper’s class used K’Nex to try potential design ideas. They were incredible!
Pupils in Year 5/6 have been learning how to create simple, straightforward VLOGs on the theme of an E-Safety message. Pupils planned and then filmed their messages. We hope that you learn something from the video below!
Over the past few weeks, Class K, Mr Cooper’s Year 5/6 class, have been editing their own videos which will serve as an everlasting memory of their residential trip to Lledr Hall. The class split into seven groups, elected a project manager and then storyboarded, planned and edited their own short films. The fantastic video below has been produced by the group Memory Makers.
