Today Reception class 2 played ‘Where’s my balloon?’ to use the positional language we have learnt this week.
Reception Class 1 and 2 both had a wonderful trip to Brockholes Nature Reserve. We searched for ‘tree cookies’, played running and hiding games, built dens, hugged trees and made mud. We also walked A LOT!

Pupils in reception have been learning all about space. The children in Mrs Flynn’s and Mrs Kingsley’s class have created some beautiful ‘magic milk planets’ by mixing together milk and food colouring – they look wonderful! Well done!
Reception have been learning all about life as a pirate! Amongst many other activities, they dressed up as a pirate, learnt swashbuckling songs and created imaginative writing. In this post you can see Miss Millar’s class’ excellent ‘Treasure Island’ creations. Look closely at the pictures of the pirates!
Hello all and welcome to another exciting school year. We are going to start our blog posts with work from some of our newest pupils…
Children in Reception talked about the Sunflower seeds they grew in Nursery. They then looked at photos and ‘real’ sunflowers to talk about the colours and textures. Pupils enjoyed using paint mixed with glue and sand.
They used brushes, sponges, stencils and their fingers to help them create these beautiful sunflower pictures.
