Swimming to Victory…

Pupils from our KS2 have taken part in two different swimming competitions of late. They represented the school with distinction – the pupils’ manners and behaviour were excellent at all times. We are pleased to announce that the children came third out of all of Salford’s primary schools and achieved first place in a competition for Bury schools. They should be really proud of their achievements!

Making a Splash!

St Philip’s swimming team made a fantastic debut at the Prestwich and Whitefield Schools Swimming gala last Tuesday, 26th June. We progressed through to the finals in every one of the nine events, having won eight heats and come second in one.

We had great success in the finals, winning the girls’ relay, mixed relay, individual girls’ breaststroke and individual girls’ backstroke. We were runners up in the girls’ freestyle and boys’ breaststroke and place very well in all the other events.

The points from every event were then totalled at the end of the gala. We are delighted to pass on the news that we were Girls Overall winners.

Now for the big finale…due to the fantastic commitment, effort and teamwork shown by the children, we amassed the highest number of points of all eleven schools who entered and were crowned Overall Winners!
